The bioeconomy is the economic activity derived from the production and use of renewable biological resources, processes, and principles to provide products and services. Under environmental principles for sustainability, biological resources (wood, plants, wood waste, organic waste, etc.) are transformed into innovative products (biofuels, bioplastics, textiles, food additives, and medicine).
