Though forestry is constantly growing and evolving, UBC’s position as a leader in forestry education remains steadfast. The Faculty of Forestry provides students with an education that is second-to-none. Interdisciplinary approaches, science-based courses, groundbreaking research, cutting-edge technologies, and hands-on experience allow our students to excel in university and beyond.

Programs are spread across three departments: Forest Resources Management, Forest Sciences and Conservation, and Wood Sciences. A variety of degree programs comprised of courses, labs, and co-ops allow students to gain the invaluable experience necessary for their future careers. Led by a team of top scientists and preeminent educators, the Faculty of Forestry provides students with an in-depth education in class and out in the field.

The Faculty of Forestry is a research hub, producing invaluable projects and innovations to further advance the field of forestry. Throughout Canada, no other forestry program receives as high a level of funding.

The Faculty of Forestry is situated in the Forest Sciences Centre at UBC’s Point Grey Campus, on unceded traditional and ancestral Musqueam territory.

Off-campus facilities include two Research Forests: the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest in Maple Ridge and the Alex Fraser Research Forest near Williams Lake.

UBC Forestry is a member of the Association of University Forestry Schools of Canada.
